Abstract:
During the present investigation 9 species of Macrozoobenthos belonging to three phyla viz., Annelida, Arthopoda and Mollusca were recorded and the most dominant species found was Limnodrilus hoffmeisteri in terms of population density. The nature of sediment and the physico-chemical parameters of the sediment affected the population density of the Macrozoobenthos. Sandy clay was found most suitable for the bottom fauna.
