Abstract:
The application of phytojuvenoid on the total protein level of Bombyx mori was studied. Variation in the phytojuvenoid concentration significantly (P1<0.01) influenced the total protein level in the fat body and haemolymph of larvae at final stage of spinning. The maximum level of total protein content was recorded in case of 30% phytojuvenoid concentration – triple treated (IIIth - IVth) larvae while it was lowest in 40% phytojuvenoid concentration – triple treated larvae at final stage of spinning. The phytojuvenoid influences the level of protein in the larvae and caused some beneficial effect on the life pattern of silkworm and the productivity of cocoon.
