Abstract:
The physico-chemicalrncharacteristics and water quality of Lake Water, Sugarcane mill effluent andrnDye industry effluent were found to be toxic as it contains large amount ofrnorganic, inorganic chemical elements and heavy metals. The present studyrnfocused on evaluating the chemical parameters and toxicity of water. In thisrnpaper we comparatively analyzed three different water samples from differentrnsources. The result indicated a significant increase in Calcium in all thernwater samples. Phosphate was found in high amount next to Calcium, in lakernwater and dye industry effluent. Among the heavy metals, Lead was found to bernthe highest amount of metal in lake water and dye industry effluent. Inrnsugarcane industry effluent, Cadmium was present in high concentration. Fromrnthe overall assessment, the lake water also contains heavy metals in hugernamount and proven to be unfit for drinking purpose
