Abstract:

Speciesrnof sergestidae, Sergestes hamifer Alcock and Anderson, 1894 describedrnfrom Indian Ocean. This species has been previously identified from thernLaccadive Sea (now Lakshadweep), Indian Ocean. (8°490´´N, 73°18´45´´E) byrnAlcock and Anderson, 1894. It is characterized by a small membranous body, longrnappendages.

rnUropods with exopod about one-third longer than endopod and setosernalong entire outer margin; exopod of uropodal ramus with spine at about distalrnthird. A revised composition of Sergestes hamifer to the species isrnprovided.
